Wesley graduated from North
CarolinaStateUniversityin 1970 with a degree in Textile Chemistry. He
worked for Burlington Industries for three years in Burlington,
NC in a plant that dyed, finished and
coated a variety of home furnishing fabrics. He then moved to South
Carolina where he worked for 11 years with Emery
Industries in several capacities starting as a Development Engineer
implementing Textile Chemical Products in customer’s plants from Georgiato Maine. In this position he gained
a wealth of knowledge in surfactant chemistry including ethoxylated /
propoxylated alcohols, fatty acids and amines and phosphate esters. These basic
products are used in many formulated products in manufacturing processes
throughout the country. His last position at Emery was Production Manager
overseeing the manufacturing of Ethoxylation / Propoxylation , Esterification
and Amidation Reactions as well as specialty proprietary blended products.
In 1984 he joined Holly Oak Chemical and continued helping
Holly Oak’s customers develop and evaluate Textile Chemicals for their customer’s
requirements. In addition he worked as the first Environmental Health and
Safety Manager for Holly Oak. This involved implementing the first Material
Safety Data Sheets from our facility following OSHA Guidelines. In 1999 he
assumed the position of Executive Vice President responsible for overseeing the
daily management of Holly Oak Chemical. In this capacity he also serves as an
internal sales contact for our current and potential customers.
